Diversity Debriefing
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives have become cornerstones of modern workplace culture, aiming to foster environments where every individual feels respected, valued, and empowered. Despite these efforts, discrimination remains an issue in many organisations, leaving individuals feeling marginalised, undervalued, and emotionally affected. EDI debriefing coaching emerges as a pivotal support system for those who have experienced workplace discrimination, offering pathways to healing and growth.
As organisations continue their journey towards greater equity, diversity, and inclusion, the role of debriefing coaching will remain vital in shaping inclusive environments and promoting individual and collective growth.
Healing, Empowerment & Forward Movement
This six-session therapy program is designed to support minority clients through healing, empowerment, and resilience building. Each session integrates emotional processing, cultural affirmation, and practical coping tools, and the program includes an accompanying interactive workbook for reflection and action.
- Grounding and Identity Affirmation: The first session focuses on establishing safety, trust, and cultural identity affirmation through grounding exercises, narrative exploration, and strengths mapping. Clients receive personalised grounding practices and affirmation cards to reinforce identity as a source of power.
- Understanding Discrimination Impact: The second session educates clients about the emotional and physical effects of discrimination, normalises responses like shame and anger, and introduces trauma-informed concepts. Activities include psychoeducation, body mapping, and journaling with a takeaway body awareness practice.
- Releasing Internalised Negative Messages: Session three helps clients identify and challenge internalised harmful beliefs through cognitive reframing, creative expression, and symbolic rituals. Clients develop a list of reframed beliefs to support self-worth.
- Reclaiming Power and Agency: The fourth session strengthens assertiveness, boundary-setting, and confidence via role-plays, values clarification, and recognising moments of resilience. Clients create a personal empowerment plan to guide future actions.
- Building Resilience and Support Systems: Session five focuses on identifying supportive relationships and cultural resilience practices. Clients map their support circles and build personalised resilience toolkits incorporating music, rituals, affirmations, and movement.
- Future Visioning and Forward Movement: The final session guides clients in creating future-focused plans, celebrating growth, and anchoring hope through visualisation, goal-setting aligned with cultural values, and creative closing rituals. They receive a "Future Self Blueprint" outlining goals and commitments.
- Program Outcomes and Workbook Integration: By completion, clients gain greater cultural pride, stress management tools, reframed beliefs, clear boundaries, supportive networks, and empowerment plans. The interactive workbook complements sessions with reflections, activities, affirmations, and space for personal progress tracking.
